Portrait of a migrant farm worker

I made this after I first started working at the food bank out in Hastings. I was thinking of how skinny many of the workers were coming through the door for food but also how strong they were(while they lasted) to work in the fields all day. These pictures were taken in the metals shop at Flagler. I also showed this piece once at Flager as part of a SIFE event.

Hank S(urfe)R.

My friend Matt Foote bought this painting from Simple Gestures in St.Augustine. It's #371 which means it's the three hundred seventy first piece I made after graduating from University of Memphis in 2004.

Magic Kids Guitar

I made this guitar for my friend Bennett and his band The Magic Kids from Memphis. I took these pictures near music row in Nashville this summer. That's my cousin Frankie trying out the guitar. He was driving to Memphis for work one day so he dropped it off to my good friend Tommy (Bennett's dad) who got it to the band. Bennett emailed me to say thanks and that they were maybe going to attach it to their drum set. I added their myspace page to my links if you'd like to listen to their music.

Electric Chair, Recliner Nude and West Coast All Star

I showed "Recliner Nude-after Monet" at the Brick City Center for the Arts in Ocala. I was in several shows there in 2004 and maybe 2005.
"Electric Chair" was up for just a few days in 2010 on the fence keeping in Mama Mia (one of the mamma pigs) at Wedge Oak Farms in Lebanon,TN. I shocked myself getting this photo but it was worth it.
"Ruscha-West Coast All Stars" is a painting I made in 2004.

Blasts from the past

Before "Eyes like Brancusi" was at Simple G's I made it for a show at Catch 22 Gallery. It was outside for less than 24 hours before the city made us move it inside. I cut off two of the eyeballs so it would fit. They are made from the old exterior lights along the north wall of Ocean Villas Condominium complex where I was the pool boy/maintenance assistant when we first lived in St. Augustine. "Dear Marcel(Duchamp), Thanks for Nothing, Sincerely mikewindy" for all I know is still in the men's urinal at the upper pool men's room of the complex.
